It was a chilly spring morning in Vancouver – Magalie and Travis moved around their still empty apartment making the final preparations for the guests who were about to arrive. Candles were lit and the flowers were out… everything was ready and waiting.
All at once guests started to appear – the door buzzer an excited proclamation of their arrival. Warm and inviting, their apartment welcomed close friends to a very private and personal moment in their lives. In the middle of everyone Magalie and Travis stood, surrounded by the love of those closest to them. Today, for the first of two times, they were getting married.

I found this on the fridge… it makes me smile![]()

I love this moment… when two people turn to each other to recite their vows… it never fails to make me cry

Magalie’s tears started my own… it’s always such an honour to capture two people so in love

Chamagne from France!

We then took a little walk along the seawall for their portraits… I’m in love with this letter sculpture!

Cherry blossoms! In February! I love Vancouver![]()

Magalie – you are SO beautiful!

Magalie and Travis, it was such an honour to share this beautiful spring day with you. Your love was incredibly warming on such a cold day! I can’t wait to photograph your official ceremony in May!![]()
A huge thank you to Michael Wachniak, who both provided laughter throughout the day and single handedly rocked the second shooting position! He’s seriously the dog’s bonnet.![]()

(And the 3rd to last shot is KILLER).

Lauren - Stunning!! I love the third last one.. gorgeous
Kelly Ry - All of these are so great, Amber, as usual, but I LOVE the third to last one. The use of symmetry and the the environment is gosh-darn fantastic. That’s the one I’d have printed on a huge canvas.
Daniel Dunlap - WoW! Such amazing work Amber! You totally rocked it!
Jessica Horton - W.O.W. These are so stunning! I love that they are light and airy without being over the top. One day I want to park myself outside the county courthouse and photograph all the couples who go in and out…..
Kyle - So much awesome color and so many cool details! My favorite is a simple one though — the kiss!
Vida Carson - Wow, Amber! You did SUCH an amazing job with these! Gorgeous locations as well.
Tab Mccauslandt - Very well done!
Tina - You did fantastic! What an adorable couple too. Love the flower in her hair and purple boots! So much personality. And you captured it stunningly!
Amanda Basteen - LOVE these! The fact that you can make a ceremony inside a house look amazing is talent! Love the ring shot and especially love the up close of them kissing! Amazing job!
Ginger-MOG - Amber, thank you! You took me on an emotional roller-coaster. I laughed, I cried, and felt as if I were present with Maggie and Travis, even though I’m 2000 miles away. The picture where Trav is tipping his hat and Maggie has her arm around his neck is so them! You captured my son and new daughter perfectly! Thank you again.

Heather K - Amber, you blow my mind!! This whole set is fabulous. What a perfect intimate ceremony to have! The photograph of the first “man and wife” kiss is my favorite (I think…there are so many!!), because of the expression on the bride’s face. You can see her grinning, even if her lips are pursed! The shot from below in the big white staute thing is phenominal. Wonderful work!!
