Tammy and Linnette’s wedding dawned on a beautiful sun filled day in Mexico – the only thing more stunning was the love you could feel passing between them. I almost always cry during a wedding and theirs was no exception – the words they spoke to each other told of a very deep connection, something that always takes my breath away!

Tammy and Linnette – it was an immense honour to be there with you over the course of your Mexican wedding week. I had an amazing amount of fun and an incredible amount of joy getting to know you and your love. Thank you for choosing me to be there with you!

WPPI 2011

Last month I headed down to Las Vegas to attend the Wedding and Portrait Photographers International annual tradeshow and convention. I had only been once before and for me this trip was a huge deal – not only was I going to to WPPI agan, it was also my first trip completely solo. I was nervous and excited for week before I went I could hardly stand myself!

While I was down there I had the chance to get together with an amazing group of photographers I know from an online forum. Some of them I’ve been chatting with for years but had never had the chance to meet them in person before. We had an amazing time getting to know each other and ended up heading out to the desert a couple of times for random photo sessions. It was nothing formal, but completely magical…

Below are some of the shots I took during our time together… the first shoot is in the middle of a dry lake bed just outside of Las Vegas, and the second portion is from a slightly staged but totally awesome ghost town.

I’m Still Alive!

Hi everyone! Just to let you know, I’m still alive and working like a fiend! My poor blog has been a little neglected lately, but rest assured I’m ready to start the posting machine back up again!

Part of the reason you haven’t heard from me in ages (aside from the whirlwind of a move) is because I was away on a couple of trips – one of them to a huge wedding photographers convention in Las Vegas. I’m working on a blog post from a shoot we did in the desert to share with you all, but in the meantime enjoy this teaser image to tide you over!

Magalie + Travis | Puerto Vallarta Day After Session

We were supposed to head out the day after Magalie and Travis’ wedding to do a day after session in the streets of Puerto Vallarta – unfortunately, the weather had a different idea for us as it was unbearably hot and none of us could bear the idea of doing anything other than lounging in the shade. We all decided it would be best if we got up early in the morning on our last day in Mexico to shoot the session and I’m so glad we did – the temperature was just lovely and it felt like we had the streets all to ourselves.

After spending some time in PV we then headed down to a local beach for a few more shots…

Sigh… what a wonderful way to spend a morning!

Bright light city’s gonna set my soul on fire…..

Wow! Where to begin? The 8 days I spent in Vegas earlier this month were at once terribly action packed, inspiring, overwhelming and very VERY glittery!

As many of you know, I took the trip down to the city that never sleeps to attend the annual convention held there by WPPI (wedding and portrait photographer’s international). It was my first time attending the convention and I was blown away by what an all encompassing experience it really is! With thousands of photographers in attendance, two full sized ballrooms filled with every photo item available and just about every big name in the industry in attendance I was literally worn out each day by the sheer enormity of it. I got home and needed a vacation from my vacation!

The good news is I was able to see and sample a LOT of products while I was down there. The end result is I will be adding some new books and canvases to my current offerings, so keep your eyes open for the soon to come samples! I’m REALLY excited to take my product list up that extra couple of notches… I think you will be too.

As if WPPI wasn’t a huge deal on it’s own, we even flew in early to hook up with Scott Robert for a little pre-WPPI workshop. Below are just some of the images I captured in those three days. All images (save one, which I have noted below) were posed and lit by me.
