  • Hi, I'm Amber Hughes!

I'm a Vancouver wedding photographer specializing in true love and amazing moments.

If I'm not photographing you can usually find me riding my cruiser bike or adding to my already out of control collection of vintage kitchenwares (you should see my toaster!)

The Roskells!

Last week I met up with the Roskell family for a fun and urban family session! What was supposed to be a rainy and overcast day turned into a glorious sunshine filled autumn afternoon in Vancouver. We couldn’t have been more lucky…:)

I loved hanging out with this family! They were SO nice and fun… seriously, we spent most of the day laughing. They even had a bag of home made chocolate chip cookies to share… can it get any better?

Ok.. enough gabbing… here they are… the Roskells!

From left to right, may I introduce you to Lita, Bob, Melanie, Rebecca and Alex…

Lita and Bob bringing sexy back…:)

The whole fam-damily! Love this shot of you guys… so relaxed!

Gotta love this door… yum!

Aww… can you believe they just celebrated their 29th anniversary? Congrats again you two!

Check out the super cute shoes Lita wore… I LOVE red shoes!

Melanie, Alex and Rebecca showing their ANTM side;)

Awesome staircase…. love these shots too!

Lita, Bob, Melanie, Rebecca and Alex….  I had such a wonderful time getting to know all of you! I’ve rarely seen a family so relaxed and genuinely happy to be around each other. It was such a treat to be invited to dinner with you as well… the perfect end to a wonderful day with all of you!:)

Lita Roskell - Amber, I love them!!! These are awesome !! Talk about a teaser……
It isn’t easy to capture five people with a limited attention span (Cookies…car….rat trap…security guard) but you did so with grace, patience and professionalism, and it was so much fun. Thank you. Can’t wait for the rest!

Hello Hello!

Well, you’ve made it… welcome to my new and much sexier blog! Could it be any cooler than the last one? I’m so stoked!

You’ll find below some of my old posts from my original blog which I’ve migrated over to help give this new one a more familiar feeling. I’ll be posting my new website soon as well (fingers crossed), and once it’s up my old website will be set up to point to the brand new me… I can hardly stand it I’m so excited!

Now, I’m going to have to ask for your help… I have a few sessions coming up to blog about, but as it’s the slow season around here for me I could really use your help thinking of subjects to fill in the blanks. Reply in the comments below with questions for me to answer… go ahead, ask me anything! I’ll do my best to reply to each question as a blog post in the coming weeks… hopefully you won’t all get too bored of hearing about me!;)

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope to hear from a lot of you soon!

kristel - if you could shoot a wedding anywhere in the world, where would it be, and what would it look like?

Linda Tamarpirat - Questions…

1. What’s in your bag? What equipment do you use? Do you use different equipment for an e-sessions and weddings? What about other sessions?
2. How did you get started in photography? If you weren’t a photographer what else would you be?
3. How many workshops have you done and which was your favorite and why?
4. What is your favorite subject to shoot and why?
5. Do you have any photographer horror story of you own during a session or dealing with a customers?

I’ll be back with more questions! I hope this helps a little.
